About

My research interests broadly focus on multicultural competency and cultural humility in counseling/psychotherapy, integrating intersectionality and critical theory (e.g., CRT, queer theory) into psychological science and practice, and community-based interventions/collaborations (e.g., workshops, trainings).

I am primarily interested in understanding identity development processes among marginalized populations, especially those who embody multiple marginalized identities. With this knowledge I work towards informing and/or developing interventions to increase the well-being of Latine/x, LGBTQ+, and LGBTQ+ People of Color communities. For example, some of my previous work explores how the “coming out” process varies among gay White men and gay Latinos, and how this impacts these men’s well-being and mental health.
