About

In my career as a school counselor educator, I strive to train justice-focused professionals to use evidence-based practices and practice-based evidence to improve the lives of school children in Pre-School—12th grade systems.  My research is focused on identifying and promoting interventions to address mental health issues and promote wellness, social-emotional learning and career/academic development.   In terms of research directly related to the mission of the CCCR, I have participated in two grant-funded projects (2019 and 2023) in Mongolia. Projects involved colleagues from National University of Mongolia and WWU (e.g., Oyundelger Enhktur, Dr. David Sattler) and focused on secondary students’ perceptions of school climate, bullying, safety/support, and comprehensive sexuality education.  The collaborative research work with colleagues in Mongolia has allowed me to apply and adapt my expertise with school climate and student development in American schools to a new context. Our partnership has produced both quantitative and qualitative research papers. I am excited to share ideas and collaborate with other CCCR members.
