About

Together with students in my Culture & Well-Being Lab, I study cultural differences and similarities in emotions and life satisfaction.  A good example of research from my lab is the publication of a recent graduate’s thesis which was a meta-analytic review of Asian American life satisfaction.  I’m also interested in cultural differences in perceptions of the good life and the cognitive organization of emotion memory.  From 2008-2017 I was a faculty member at Singapore Management University.  Living in Asia for nearly a decade and then experiencing the culture shock of returning to the United States has given me a unique lens through which I view culture and human behavior.
